Enlighten Teeth Whitening: Your Ten Top Questions Answered

Enlighten Teeth Whitening: Your Ten Top Questions Answered

Enlighten teeth whitening is one of the most popular teeth whitening treatments available today. It's a safe and effective way to achieve a brighter, whiter smile. However, with so many different teeth whitening options available, it can be hard to know what to expect from the process. In this blog, we'll answer the top 10 questions people have about Enlighten teeth whitening, so you can make an informed decision about whether this treatment is right for you. Whether you're curious about the process, the cost, or the results, we've got you covered.

1.Do I need to come into the practice for this treatment?

We offer two options for Enlighten teeth whitening - an at home treatment and a combination of at home and in-surgery whitening. For both, you will need an initial consultation so we can create the custom made trays for you and give you the kit you’ll need to whiten your teeth at home. The in-surgery booster treatment guarantees the whiteness of your new smile.

2.How long does the whitening treatment take?

Treatment can be completed in as little as 3 weeks, though for more complex cases it can take up to 8 weeks. It all depends on the severity of the staining or discolouration on your teeth. We will be able to advise you on this at your initial consultation.

3.How much lighter will my teeth become?

It's quite common for Enlighten teeth whitening to achieve a shade of B1 or beyond in 98% of cases, regardless of age, diet, or the starting shade of your teeth. While many patients do indeed surpass the B1 shade, it's important to note that this outcome cannot be guaranteed.

4.Is Enlighten teeth whitening safe?

It certainly is! Though we do advise that if you are pregnant or a nursing mum that you wait until afterwards to have your treatment.

5.Does the treatment hurt?

The treatment doesn’t hurt as such, but you may experience some sensitivity because of the nature of the treatment. Most of our patients don’t experience any sensitivity at all and those that do generally find that it goes away once the treatment is stopped.

6.How long do the results last?

The results of your whitening treatment can last indefinitely, however you may need to carry out a top up regime at home to prolong the effects.

7.Do I have to avoid certain foods and drinks?

Whilst you can’t eat or drink whilst wearing the trays, at any other time you do not need to restrict your diet. This means that curries, red wine and tea and coffee are still on the menu even though you are having your teeth whitened.

8.Will the treatment make my teeth sensitive?

Though this treatment causes minimum discomfort, if you do experience sensitivity then we offer free evo-seal sensitivity gels to ensure your maximum comfort during treatment.

9.How much does Enlighten teeth whitening cost?

At Riverside Dental Spa we offer two choices for Enlightened teeth whitening:

  • Gold Enlighten Kit (Home Kit) £450
  • Platinum Enlighten Kit (Home Kit and In-Surgery Whitening) £600

Treatment costs can be spread over a longer period of time by using our Dental Finance options - please ask us about this at the time of your consultation.

10.My at-home treatment has finished, what do I do next?

Once you have completed your whitening treatment, you can now enjoy your new bright smile. However, if you have any concerns or questions regarding your teeth after your treatment is finished, it's always a good idea to schedule an appointment with us.
