How does the Inman Aligner work?
The Inman Aligner uses tiny hi-tech springs that push the teeth together from both sides gently but also efficiently.

Unlike most other orthodontic systems, it is constantly pushing and this is what makes the Aligner work so quickly.

How long does treatment with the Inman Aligner take?
Most Inman Aligner cases take an average of 6-16 weeks. More complex cases can take a little longer and simple cases might finish sooner.

Lower front teeth are normally a bit quicker than uppers. The length of treatment also depends on how much a patient wears their Aligner.

Because the Inman Aligner is so efficient, when a case is suitable, it can work significantly faster than more traditional orthodontic techniques. For this reason, patients can now anticipate a beautiful new smile in a time span previously only possible with veneers.

Is the Inman Aligner uncomfortable?
As with any orthodontic appliance, the Inman Aligner can feel a little uncomfortable for the first few days. You may get a little soreness but normally after a week most patients are used to their Aligner and have no problems wearing it and it will quickly feel like it belongs in your mouth. Your speech may be affected for the first few days but it will get better!

The Aligner will only work if you wear it every day for the recommended time. Ideally patients should wear the Aligner for 16- 20 hours a day maximum. This means that you must have it out of your mouth for at least 4 hours a day to give the teeth a chance to rest.

It must always be removed before eating and you should clean your teeth and your aligner before you place it back into your mouth.

It is ok to take your aligner out for photos, special occasions and eating as long as this is not for longer than a few hours. The Inman Aligner should always be worn while sleeping.

If you don’t wear the aligner at least 16 hours a day you treatment will take longer.

Is the Inman Aligner comparable to Invisible braces?
No, the Inman Aligner is used for treating the top and bottom front teeth only. Invisalign can treat full arches (all your teeth). But when both treatments are suitable, the Inman Aligner is faster.

Will treatment with the Inman Aligner be uncomfortable?
Due to the gentle but steady orthodontic forces generated, the appliances are easily tolerated, although you may get some soreness for a week.

Will the Inman Aligner affect my speech?
Yes. The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week or two. You will however acclimate to the appliances over time and be able to speak fine with them in place. Lower Aligners are far easier to speak with.

Will I need to see the dentist frequently for adjustments?
The Inman Aligners are made in such a way that they do not need frequent adjustments for them to work.. In more complex cases, you may need some adjustments, but normally only every 2/3 weeks.
